Music as tradition

Anamika Kannan is a multi-disciplinary musician and writer whose work spans live performance to independent film and media scoring and music production. Trained across Western classical, jazz, Carnatic traditions and contemporary production, she brings depth to each project — whether composing for the screen, producing original records, or performing live.

Her sound combines West coast influence, orchestral textures, synthetic sound, vocals, electronic production, and original instrumentation.

Based in New York City, NY and Bay Area, CA, she collaborates with directors, independent artists, performance ensembles, and record labels across the United States and internationally. Currently, she works out of Oakland, CA.
